CURRICULUM

JIBA College curriculum emphasizes education of the whole person; thus a wide range of subjects are offered to cater for all students with an academic focus. The curriculum is broad based and aimed at enlarging the coast of our students’ attainment in consonance with the Federal/Lagos State policies on education. In addition, we teach students the rudiments of computer education to enhance their worth and relevance in the society. Highly qualified and experienced staff guide the students in learning, aided by well-equipped Science Laboratories, Home Economics, Art, Craft, Designs and computer centers. Students are prepared for Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE), Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), National Examination Council (NECO), General Certificate Examination (GCE).

The Preschool and Nursery

In the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, there are six early Learning Goals:

  • Persona, Social and Emotional Development, including dispositions and attitudes, self-confidence and self-esteem, behaviour and self-control, self-care and sense of community.
  • Communication, Language and Literacy, including language for communication, language for thinking, sounds and letters, reading, writing and handwriting.
  • Mathematical Development, including numbers as labels and for counting, calculating shape, space and measures.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World, including exploration and investigation, designing and skills, information and communication technology, a sense of time, a sense of place, cultures and beliefs.
  • Physical Development, including skills in movement sense of space, health and bodily awareness, using tools and equipment.
  • Creative Development, including exploring media and materials, music, imagination and responding, expressing and communicating ideas.
